Those of you not reading this post via RSS or Facebook might notice a little change; a button at the bottom of each post that reads “SHARE”.  No, it’s not me preaching about moral decline, although that’s not a bad idea… No, it’s a cool little button that makes it ridiculously easy for you to share anything you read and like on here with anyone in your social networking universe.

Thanks to the fine folks at AddThis – Social Bookmark & Feed Button Builder, anyone with a web page or blog (or whatever) can enable viewers and readers to connect that content with their social networks in just a few simple clicks.

All you do is hover over the button and you get a small menu of some of the most popular networks, like Facebook, Twitter and Digg, or an option to email the link to a friend or save it in your bookmarks.  If your social network isn’t listed, just click “More” and you’re on your way to a world of sharing.

For most readers here, I would guess that Twitter and FaceBook would be the most popular, but thanks to the fine folks as AddThis, I don’t have to guess.  Included in your sign-up is a VERY robust analytics tracking tool that shows how many clicks per day (or month, or year) each service gets and from what content. The data is very well displayed in pie charts, but can also be exported to Excel, and you even have the choice of tab delimited data.

To make things even easier for us bloggers, they’ve built a WordPress plug-in that was dangerously easy to use and configure.  After 10 minutes, you’re up and running.

Don’t take my word for how awesome it is.  Kick the tires a bit and take her out for a spin.  Once you’re back, we’ll talk numbers.

* Thanks for this tip goes to fellow SilentTalkie editor, Karim (who also added it to SilentTalkie for Social-Network-Sharing-Goodness).
